We are excited to announce that our new surgical center, Apex Surgical, is now open! With the approval from the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador, we are now able to provide MCP-covered cataract surgery at our new location. This will greatly benefit the residents of Newfoundland and Labrador by reducing wait times and improving access to care at a state-of-the-art facility.
We are confident we will be able to reduce wait times significantly in the coming months while providing the highest quality of care to our patients.
The Mission
Our mission is to provide quality elective ambulatory surgical care to promote the health and optimal function required to lead active lives.
The Vision
Apex Surgical strives to provide excellent outpatient ophthalmological surgical care in our community. Our goal is to be the outpatient surgery healthcare provider of choice. We will have a team of professional personnel who are passionate about patient care and committed to continuously improving our services to our patients.

Exemplary Standing
APEX Surgical Inc. is the first and only ambulatory surgical centre to get “Exemplary Standing” with Accreditation Canada in Newfoundland and Labrador.
After being evaluated by Accreditation Canada to the same standards as any hospital in Canada, APEX Surgical Inc. has proven its leadership in healthcare standards throughout all aspects.
In response to such a positive evaluation, the Accreditation Canada’s inspectors noted that “Never before have we had a facility…"
Accepting Referrals
We are now accepting referrals for cataract surgery and refractive lens exchange at Apex Eye Institute.
